What is 'Rosegate'? I'm going to tell you in pictures!
Rosegate occurred during Il Divo's recent London concert. They were seated on the steps and singing A Mi Manera (My Way). For this spot in the concert there are always roses set on the stairs that they pick up, hold on to, and sing with. The Brighton concert, for example:
Then they throw the roses the crowd at the end of the song.
If you've never seen the concert footage, they mostly pick up their roses themselves. See David in Brighton:
(Although sometimes David will hand Urs his because Urs stays standing. He's so nice.)
But that's not how it happened in London.
Here we have Il Divo, pre-Rosegate.
Everything's going well. Nothing's out of the ordinary.
Until Sébastien managed to completely mangle David's rose when he passed it to him. [Correct me if I'm wrong about the exact process, the details are a little sketchy. Either way, he pretty much wrecked the rose]
And Sébastien cracks up, but carries on. David doesn't know what to think.
Sébastien is still laughing.
And he can't stop! Look at him wipe away the tears!
Sébastien is laughing so hard that he can't sing his part and keeps apologizing to the audience. David is left holding the petals that fell off his rose.
Meanwhile Sébastien can't contain himself. [Found by the fab okenakab.]
Hey, Sébastien, are you going to be ok?
David wibbles. Sébastien laughs and cries his eyes out.
David carries on despite his heartbreak.
But Seb redeems himself! How?
He gives David one of the roses he got from a fan! Aw! (I think you can still see a tear on his face. Hee, Seb you win at random muck ups. We just adore you more.)
