Today was a relatively eventful day for me. I got my hair cut, just an inch off and sort of new layers. This was the first time I'd tried that salon, I usually go home to get it done, but I'm glad I tried this place. My usual hairdresser is pretty young, late twenties I think, but she always makes my hair kind of old. This time the hairdresser mixed up the layers so I can't wait to try it out tomorrow on my own.
I only had one class today, which is so nice. Revolution in the Modern World (French, Russian, etc) and it's really good. I've had the professor before in second year and we bonded over a mutual love of Horatio Hornblower! How awesome is that? I had the book out on the desk, he noticed it and struck up a conversation. I love it when profs do that.
Right after that class I went and gave blood at a clinic on campus. It was busy so it took about 1.5 hours. This was my third time giving blood so I was allowed to sit up right away but after a minute or two I felt nauseous and laid back down (ok, I know I chronically misuse 'lay' and I used to know it properly at one point) and the nurse shouted for ice. Cue me feeling like a moron and apologizing to my nurse and cold-water-and-towel-bringing nurse, "I don't mean to be a pain!" They told me I wasn't, but I still felt like a doofus. So I ended up being held back to recover longer than it took me to fill my pint (12 minutes. Last time it took 9! Yes, I timed it.) My thought process is that by donating I'm helping someone live, and maybe, if they're able, they'll give blood at a future date. Or by talking about it to friends, etc, that they'll donate too. And hopefully, if I'm ever sick or in an accident *knock on wood*, there will be O-neg blood available for me. Karma and all that. Because:
Persons with O Negative Type Blood can receive the following types of blood:
* O Negative (universal donor!)
O Negative type blood can be safely given to persons with blood types:
* O Positive/Negative
* A Positive/Negative
* B Positive/Negative
* AB Positive/Negative
And I love you, Supernatural!
For some reason, Dean's "My name? Sure, my name is-" *hangs up* And the Detectives Bachman and Turner? HUGE Canadian squee! I love this show! Dean grabbing for Sam! Aaaahh! Dean and his comebacks... And I really don't like Ruby, nothing personal. Wow, you can tell Dean was in prison once. Did you see the shanking technique when stabbed the demon? Very nice, very OZ.
