A little tipsy]
[music|Um, M*A*S*H again ]
Tonight was the second and last Moonlight Movie Night, yayity. I went to go do facepainting since that was the only way I could get off work at 5:30 instead of 8. (I know, that makes little sense, but it was basically if I coudl work 11-8 then I had no excuse not to work 9-5:30 and then come back up at 7:30 to face paint since I'd be on the Square anyways one way or another.) The first movie night last year I had a long lineup of boys wanting flames and dragons. Last time in July I had a bunch of girls wanting butterflies. This time I got a ton of kids wanting their entire faces done as cheetahs, butterflies, cats, lions, Spiderman, Batman and a toad. Um, he might have ended up looking more like a zombie than a toad...
Dad noticed some scratches on the top of the passenger side door of the Bravada. From the look of them it seems that someone's been trying to break into the car. We're lucky they haven't gotten in yet but I had to park the car deeper in the driveway tonight.
See, where it is now, the passenger side of the car is completely invisible from the porch or the front windows. Tonight I parked it right in front of the garage. We hope whoever's trying to get in it won't come so close. We'll see, hopefully the car alarm goes off if anyone gets near it. But you should see the scratches! I'll take a photo later.
And, because it was the only other photo on the camera,
Elli's new guitar.
He used a large portion of the money he saved, but it's a Gibson and it came with a case. It sounds much better than his old one, but that's still no excuse for playing the solo from "Dani California" [Red Hot Chili Peppers] over and over! *pulls hair*
I went to the bank on my lunch and got 100 euros since that's all they had. And I ordered 400 euros of traveller's cheques and another 100 euros in cash. They said they'd be here within a week. Good, because I only have until next Friday to get them! O_O The money's pretty still can't beat Canada's ;) and as the denominations get smaller, so do the bills! It's kind of funny.
I had a fairly creepy/slimy guy come in today. He wanted a pair of black semi-dressy shoes for work and dancing. Then he asked if I'd dance with him to test them out. I said I didn't know how to dance. "Really? No way. Don't all girls your age spend your weekends out dancing?" 1. It's not the 1920s anymore (but that would be neat!) 2. You're creepy, leave me alone! Why can't we get some hot flirty guys in the store? I always seem to be the one to catch the weird old guys. No comment!
Cheryl was a bit off today and I was the one who caught all the flak. Sandy came in at 11 thinking that it would be the usual Sandy's-in-so-much-crap-for-no-reason day until Tammy (who'd only been at work 15 minutes!) told her that no, I was the whack-a-mole today. Sandy came up to me in the back where I was having my lunch (2 hours before I usually have it, WTF?) and said, "I understand there's a stick with a shitty end and you're holding it." Yeah, yeah, thanks a lot!
Emily, a girl whose sister I went to school with, just got back from a year in France and works for the BIA, was helping at the movie night and had a chance to give me two bits of advice:
1. Don't bring a ton of clothes, you'll buy them all there. In fact, just pack an empty suitcase!
2. Only bring one pair of shoes, you'll just buy more there!
:D Except I hate shopping for clothes. I'm getting better, but there's the whole "self-esteem with my body image" thing that holds me back a little. I've dropped quite a bit (the capris I bought in NYC at the beginning of the summer are about 3 sizes too big! *dances*) and I'm fitting into stuff from grade 8-9 (not worn out or dated stuff, don't worry, it's not like I'm decked out in 80s wear). I just need more self-confidence, that's all.
And that's the end of my parentheses abuse for tonight!
