Some of you may recall my
earlier issues of mistaken identity around my neighborhood, wherein the girl who works at the local breakfast nook started greeting me as Sara and asking how my psychology degree was going (fine), and how my plans to become a nurse were coming along (...what?). She also seemed confused that I had two "usuals" that I would order. I think she has since realized that there was something funny going on, because now she just calls me "Honey" and gives me this vaguely confused look whenever I come in.
I had been meaning to post about the fact that this has started happening at the Asian place nearby as well -- they don't call me Sara there, but lately they've said, "Oh, trying something different, are we?" when I've ordered something. This has led me to wonder what kind of Chinese/Thai food my doppelganger eats. Apparently not Mongolian Beef or Pad Thai.
All rather amusing and intriguing, to be sure. But today's incident ventured into the land of outright boggledom. I was paying for my purchases at the local corner store, only to be greeted with, "$4.64. Same as always," and a grin from the man behind the counter.
I was buying a box of Cheerios and a Snickers bar.
What the heck? I'm a little worried about my doppelganger's health if that's a staple of her diet.
