I don't usually just post a bunch of links. But today I am. Huh. Today's excellent wastes of time mostly courtesy of
John Hodgman:
For all those of you Daily Show fans suffering from the Writer's Guild strike, be sure to watch this excellent video from the Daily Show writers explaining
what's up with the writers' strike. It's a news update and a little Daily Show fix all at once.
Also, for those of you meme enthusiasts who also need a new comic archive to work your way through, may I strongly recommend
The Laugh-Out-Loud Cats, a comic about hobo cats Kitteh and Pip. Here's
one of my earlier favorites. [Edit:
and another.]
For those of you who are fans of
lolcats and
Post Secret, I give you
LolSecretz -- though I recommend you start with the first ones, as I found them funnier.
I've been meaning for a while to point out this preview for
American Furry, though less because of the video itself than the sheer awesomeness of the full name -- American Furry: Life, Liberty, and the Fursuit of Happiness.
I'm getting the feeling I should be paying a lot more attention to
The Sound of Young America, it having been pointed to (and appeared on) recently by Ira Glass, John Hodgman, and other folks I like.
And for anyone that I haven't yet mentioned this to several dozen times,
The Comics Curmudgeon is great. You may be slightly horrified to find yourself actually following Mary Worth and Apartment 3-G with some interest after a while, though.
