Random useless facts about me...
I got tagged by caz963and then again by marymarybut I was out of town and didn't get around to doing it, so... better late than never? Also, I'm pretty sure that everyone on my flist has been tagged by someone already, so this'll just stop here, okay?

01. What's the last TV show you saw?
Life On Mars, my new television obsession. If you haven't seen it yet, rectify immediately.
02. What are you wearing at the moment?
Black jag jeans and a coral long-sleeved shirt from J Crew. Also, flip-flops, although it is November and chilly and rainy. What can I say? I can't give them up.
03. Have you lost any friends recently? Why?
ummm... I don't think so. Although there is one long-time friend who has kind of... disappeared from my life. I know that she's more or less okay because we have mutual friends, but I haven't heard from her in many months. Yeah, I know that I should just pick up the phone or shoot her an email, but I guess I'm sort of afraid to.
04. What is your favorite scent?
The kind that comes in a bottle and has an ad campaign? Chanel no. 5 and Kors by Michael Kors. Just in general? Lavender and bergamot. Naturally occurring? Bread baking, laurel trees in bloom in Central Park, Christmas trees and rainy spring days.
05. What's your occupation? What do you do there?
I've been gainfully unemployed for over 10 years now (since my oldest was 9 months old). Before dropping out of the workforce I was in marketing for Microsoft and (before that) Colgate-Palmolive.
06. What do you drink the most?
Coffee, no question. Otherwise, water, I guess.
07. What is your favorite restaurant?
Oh, there are almost too many to name. My favorite special occassion place is Chez Shea, here in Seattle.
08. What will you be doing after finishing this?
Reading the newspaper, paying bills, then picking the kids up from school. My so very adventurous life...
09. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Starting from the beginning? In turn, a teacher, an interior designer, an actress, a child psychologist, a writer, a senator, a lawyer and an economics professor.
10. Your favorite romantic movie?
Casablanca, Pride and Prejudice and When Harry Met Sally
11. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
Smart, funny, nonconforming, thoughtful, slightly evil and a very good writer (hint hint)
12. What's the least favorite thing about yourself?
My thighs. Also, laziness.
13. What are your ideal qualities in a novel?
A story and characters that are so compelling I don't want to leave them. A book that makes me think.
14. What time do you usually go to bed?
I alternate between essentially falling asleep when the kids do (about 9:30 or 10) and staying up half the night reading or wandering about the internet.
15. What's the meaning behind your LJ username/name/nicknames you go by?
Lauren is my middle name and the ba is for my favorite old-time actress, Lauren Bacall.
