MY YEAR IN REVIEW:

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Went to punk rock concerts, was the center of ridiculous drama…and I found myself in the midst of chaos.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t even remember making one last year. This year’s is to read 100 books. I already posted about that.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but I know an awesome soon-to-be mama! (BTW…it was really good to see you last night)

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, I was very fortunate.

5. What countries did you visit?
Nicaragua

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
A better grasp on reality. A job during the school year. More motivation. Less worries about my weight.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Sundays at Search 106 and 107…and the following weekends. May 13: Powderpuff (and the emergence of a more confident person). November 13: Yellowcard with my favorite girl ever.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Being more confident. Standing up for myself and being a bitch. Making swim team captain. Being in Miss CHHS. Winning my first high school race in swimming. Branching out. Helping someone despite adversity.

9.What was your biggest failure?
Too many…Thinking I knew everything. Being close-minded. Letting people get to me. Blowing things out of proportion. Not avoiding drama.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
The doctors almost took a biopsy for cancer in September/October.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Books.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Kelly Mokris. She really learned how to come out of her shell and stand up for herself. She’s a much stronger person than she was a year ago.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled?
Some of the adults in the Search program.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Clothes. Nicaragua. Random everyday stuff.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Concerts. Ultimate Frisbee at Sonfest. Being a Senior. Football season. Miss CHHS. Our overtime playoff game. Yellowcard. Getting into UGA.

16. What songs will always remind you of 2004?
Empty Apartment and October Nights (Yellowcard)
Simon (Lifehouse)
Innocent and Right There Behind You (Our Lady Peace)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

- i. happier or sadder? Way happier.

- ii. richer or poorer? Way poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Hung out with friends. Read. Branch out. Not forget my old friends.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Complained.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it with family.

21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
Overall…Kel.

22. What LJ users did you meet for the first time?
Ummmm.

23. How many one-night stands?

24. What was your favorite TV program?
One Tree Hill and Laguna Beach.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Dislike…yes. Hate…no.

26. What was the best book you read?
Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
That I am the only one who enjoys my loud singing in the car.

28. What did you want and get?
Strength. Understanding. Sanity (for the most part).

29. What did you want and not get?
Security (for the most part).

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Saved!

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Went to Q-Zar with 20 people. Had a party at my house. 17.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not too much. Maybe less pressure.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Conscious. Preppy. Stereotypical.

34. What kept you sane?
Friends. Confidence.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I don’t know.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Reason for the War in Iraq. Lies told to get ahead.

37. Who did you miss?
Kelly Fitzgerald

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Sebastian and Emily Schumacher (although I did know her before, just not well)

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
Confidence is the key. Don’t let others get you down. Sometimes you’re the only person that’s going to stand up for something. People are mean and fake. Wear your heart on your sleeve. Don’t have regrets. Live in the present. Don’t be afraid to try things that scare you. Step out of your bubble. Laugh as much as you can. Its okay to do things for yourself. Don't let the sun go down on your anger. Stay true to who you are. Keep smiling. Be happy.
