[fic] Countermeasures
I was thinking about Shisui and his ability again as I'm RPing him at the moment and this came to mind. It's really more to get me back into writing than anything else.
Title: Countermeasures

Summary: Shisui worries Inoichi. Spoilers for 459.
Shisui looks at him questioningly.
Inoichi considers it carefully.
"The one about... the hairtie?"
"Yes. You figured it out much faster this time."
"Not that this isn't useful for me but I don't understand why you're doing this with me."
Shisui glances in the direction of the Uchiha compound, his gaze distant. When he looks back at Inoichi, his eyes are playful.
"What if I become a missing-nin? Konoha would need someone to counter my ability then."
Inoichi is worried by this statement but decides to play along for now.
"Are you planning on that?"
The expression that flashes across his face confuses Inoichi. He thinks there was anger and guilt in it but isn't sure what the others were.
"No. But things change."
Inoichi doubts that. Shisui's loyalties may seem unclear to some but he knows that the other would never betray Konoha.
"You probably wouldn't change that much."
Shisui looks sad for a second.
"Maybe. Don't worry about that anyway. I doubt it'll ever be an issue."
Inoichi wants to ask him about that but he's already disappeared.
