I have no life so I spend far more time refreshing the first page of the Naruto section of FF.net than is good for me (and my sanity).
As the second largest section of the site, Sturgeon's Law applies heavily.
I'd seen this 'fic' around a couple of times before but today it had been updated with a Naruto/Avatar crossover. Being the crossover junkie that I am, I decided to click on it. (Please note that this is the author's only story.)
In case you're curious as to what it's about, but don't want to be mentally scarred by actually reading it, I'll summarize it briefly for you.
Like a lot of people, the author has many ideas. Unlike other people though, he's not content to, you know, actually write a story using them. Instead he posts them as they are and hopes that people will like them enough to adopt them.
This one's a Naruto/Bleach crossover.
Common cliches include:
Naruto's 'mask of stupidity' - Naruto doesn't have one of these, kthnxbai.
Knowing who his parents are - Chapter 440 means nothing to him, clearly.
Good!Sensei!Kyuubi - The Kyuubi is NOT a misunderstood giant fluffy bunny rabbit cruelly enslaved by the evil Madara. Stop making it one.
Harem - I have never understood harem!fic and I'm not about to try. His promise that it can be a huge harem if I want just makes me backspace. Quickly.
Translations after words - Well, obviously that's the English translation but if he doesn't think his readers will understand the words, then why on earth does he insist on using them in the first place?
