Writer's Block: In a Former Life
Why does believing in reincarnation automatically mean that you can remember past lives? And what about animal reincarnation? If I was a cockroach last time around, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't remember it in any particularly meaningful way.
As it happens, I do remember several past lives, but I don't make it a habit of talking about them. It tends to make one come off as a bit of a kooky New Age-r, and in anarchist circles, it attracts far too much attention from atheists who feel it is their solemn duty to "deprogram" me and teach me how to be "rational."
