OK if you ever like football at all, you've got to watch this play:
http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?&brand=null&videoId=3083220&n8pe6c=2 This is the school my sister goes to, and one of her friends from her dorm, Josh, is #50 and is involved in the play. They had 1 loss and Millsaps was the only undefeated team in their division or something so they it was really important for them to win. And this is Division III, non-scholarship players, all of them. You can vote it as the Pontiac Game-Changing Performance here:
https://r.espn.go.com/espn/contests/07GameChangingPerformance/index?cmp=ncaavanurlKeep in mind that my own alma mater Texas is in the running and I just could not possibly vote for them with this play in the running.
Watch the videos first, and I will let you know that this set a special kind of record in all of college football.
In other news,
The wine tour was so great! I went to Keuka Lake with the gss people (med center grad students), there were about 30 of them and I had so much fun. First we got really lost, thanks to Google, which by the way you should never trust for the Finger Lakes region. It is very good at many things, but for the wine country your best bet is a good map. Anyway, we got an hour behind but eventually got to Keuka Springs, which was pretty good. I liked one of their red wines a lot but it was $18 and i knew we were going to Dr. Frank's later so I just bought the one I liked second best, Crooked Lake Red, $12 before the 10% discount we got. I think I made a good decision.
Then we went to Bully Hill which was just so obnoxious. This place had told us to bring our lunch, or to get it at their restaurant. Well, their restaurant was a sit-down place with waiters, and that day, everything was inside. But they had all these tables with patios and such. So, since the winery had suggested that we bring our lunches, those of us who did sat on the patio. Then we got shooed off because it was part of the restaurant. Even though no one else was eating out there. But still, it wasn't as bad as the people who didn't get to eat at all. OK then we had the wine tasting and it was not good. There were 5 wines and I did not like a single one. And I really am not all that picky! I like most reds, and probably like 75% of whites that are not chardonnay. Here I disliked two but finished the glass anyway, and the others I hated so much I poured them out.
But then we went to Dr. Frank's. Oh, Dr. Frank's, how I love you so. I bought the dry riesling, gewurtztraminer, and the pink celebre (sparkling wine), and we got 20% off anything we bought since we were with a big group.
Hmm.. I've gotten no homework done this weekend. Ooops!
