Back in March of 2012, I counted my tapes, and I came up with the number 2,781. This was an estimate. I didn't actually touch each tape to count them, I did adding and multiplying, which was, with my limited math skills, very dicey.
At the end of March 2013, I had watched and thrown away 776 tapes, which was 17 more than my goal. Not that great.
When I started the countdown in March of 2012, at two tapes per day it was supposed to take me four years to finish them.
By the end of September of 2013, a year and a half later, I had disposed of 1219 tapes. I was then 115 tapes ahead of my goal.
Now it's January of 2014, and I'm up to January of 2005. I'm no longer ten years behind, only nine, lol. And I only recorded tons of stuff up though the fall of 2008, because that's when I got my DVR. I taped stuff up through 2011, when I got my first DVD recorder, but it was a lot less than years before.
Today, I recounted my tapes, and this time I counted them better than my estimate of 2012. I came up with 137 tapes more than the total in my notebook, which isn't very much, in the larger scheme of things. No big deal. Up through the end of December I had finished 1,451 tapes, and was 163 tapes ahead of my goal. I'm hoping to get this done in three years instead of four.
