(Pre) New Student Orientation Extravaganza

Wow. September is here and with it comes the beginning of a new school year.

Kind of.

Tomorrow is, as some of you may know, the first day for the new students at my school. It was decided last year that to integrate these new students into the school and its unique tone we should do a new student orientation.

Let's just say it seems to have gotten a little out of hand.

I'm not sure exactly what's going to be happening tomorrow. I know that I'm a "pod" leader (sounds slightly disturbing) and I have a group of 10 ninth graders in my charge. I know there will be something called "Adventure Ed." and drum circles. Hence "extravaganza."

Not that I'm not hella excited myself. I mean, proper classes don't start until Friday, but still. If you know me, you know mow much I love doing what I do. I can't wait to get started again this year.

And the house is coming together well. Lis and I got a table for the kitchen the other day. It's really nice. Lis put it together with these bare hands and did a great job. Most of my stuff has found a place in my room (or elsewhere; it's my house, dammit, I can put things where I want!). Couch and love seat are in the living room, covered with comfy slip-covers. Kitchen is...kind of in order. Internet is in full effect (hence my post).

It's starting to feel like home.

(Blast, I still need to figure out what to wear tomorrow.)

Must remember to put boxes in my car for last-minute things from the House. Tomorrow's Big Clean of the House. It should be...gross, actually. Hell's bells.

Anyway. Wish me luck this year and hope that the Extravaganza is not too terribly lame.
