I woke up last Wednesday morning (I'd been working rather long shifts for the previous six days and was quite tired) to my housemate Dawn coming into my room. The conversation that followed went something like this:
DAWN: Laurel, the house is flooded.
LAUREL: Really? Is it urgent?
DAWN: It's, like, ACTUALLY flooded.
LAUREL: Do I have to get up?
DAWN: Yes.
LAUREL gets up.
LAUREL: Holy shit.
The bathroom was probably two inches deep with water and more was pouring in from a broken pipe under the sink. As will happen in such situations, it had spread to the downstairs lounge and into both of our rooms. (The water, not the pipe.) Long story short, I had to move everything out of my room, as did Dawn, and they put these huge commercial dehumidifiers in. I'm currently living in the lounge and most of my furniture's in the garage. It's quite inconvenient, but apparently it won't be more than a couple more days.
In other news, I've been doing about 50 hours a week at the Brewery. Which is nice, money-wise, but not really as nice as it should be for the amount of work I'm doing. Basically, I'd love a new job. Have to do more searching, I guess. Blar.
Other things are going well. Slowly getting skinnier, and the ceroc ball's not far off! I need to figure out the exact dates of my Australia trip.
