Another Day of Joy, Unsolicited

Jan 16, 2012 15:41

As part of the More Joy Week(s)... I had not planned to make this particular post. But lo, as visual delight from the internet came without warning, I need to link to this.

Okay, so. The Sartorialist shoots the Prada Fall/Winter 2012 menswear collection, otherwise known as Men. In. Coats.

Men like Adrien Brody (third picture down) in a knee-length red-patterned coat, hair slicked back like a 30s icon, flaunting a polo-neck sweater like a 60s icon, striding down the runway like he was striding down a Paris street.

Men like Willem Dafoe (fourth picture down) in black, a hint of white shirt at his neck, chiseled and bad-ass and grown-up all at the same time.

And last but in no way least, Gary Oldman sleek and fierce, a man confident of who he is. (I am digging the glasses, totally.)

There are nice details on some of the models -- loving in a strange way the waxed mustaches, vaguely steampunk details in a modern world -- but it's the actors in these photographs who seem the most stylish, who seem to be telling us stories without words.

Enjoy. MORE Joy. :-)
