Get happy
Hey there! It's been a while....
The past week in particular has seen me writhing on the floor in full-body denial of the Work-Thing that Other People want me to do (it is awful, it is so awful) and pounding away at the original project that has been dogging me for several years. I can report that the writhing will continue until People realize that I am not the person, but more importantly... I have a completed draft of the Texas-project.
123,845 words in draft (at least 4000 to be relatively easily cut, I suspect). Two weeks to let it rest untouched, and then I'll do a reread/revision with a scalpel and a glass of wine or two. But anyway, I finished a draft. Finally.
So let's celebrate with two awesome songs:
**Judy Garland singing "Get Happy," my go-to song for cheer.
**Jill Scott singing the Bill Withers classic "Lovely Day."
And one extra, in a slightly different vein to wake you up:
**the English Beat singing "Ranking Full Stop".
