Things of Joy Today

Apr 20, 2009 11:42

Ten minutes, ten Things of Joy in the past couple of days:

*Diana Rigg Q&A in The Observer.
*a Knockout rose bush, now in my back garden.
*Sarra Manning's novel Unsticky (I've linked to the forthcoming paperback, although I read the hardback): loads of London and fashion and quirks and coolness.
*this youtube video of Bryan Ferry singing "Avalon," live, 2000 -- a song I adore regardless of its uncoolness. (Also, Mr Ferry -- smooth, louche, floppy-haired, and with a perfect white shirt!)
*walking in the unseasonable morning cool.
*the Small Blonde Dog, her adorable white paws positioned for cuteness, watching me get ready for work.
*eagerly awaiting my new Pet Shop Boys CD, and also the Flatlanders' new CD. (I am a woman of varied tastes. :-))
*Teh MacFadyen on Ashes to Ashes, bless him and his early 80s porn 'stache.
*hanging out with friends this weekend.
*a lunchtime salad which hit the spot perfectly!

I cling to these Things of Joy, and I wish many joys for you all, too.

men in white shirts, list madness, books wot i'm reading
