Hey all! It has been such a busy year and it's just flown past! I swear, it was just Christmas and now there are only 6 weeks of school left.
This week at school has been Cat's week to be the Star of the Week. So, we've made posters (pictures to follow later), and banners and sent in letters and I made a video (also to follow) (And special thanks to Ann and family for the quotes for Cat's poster!)
Today is her special lunch at school. And this brings me to the reason for my post. So, for Cat's lunch, she wanted something from a restaurant here called Red Elephant. (
http://www.redelephantpizza.com/index.php) They do pizza and burgers and she likes their chicken fingers. So, I called the restaurant at 8:30 this morning to see what their hours are. (Cat's lunch is at 10:30.) I expected to get a recording, but this nice man answered. I asked him when they opened and he said 11. He could hear the disappointment in my voice as I thanked him for the information and asked what was wrong. I told him and he said, "Well, for her special lunch, I'll have it ready at 10:00 for you to pick up." I was stunned. I told him i was using a coupon we had, so I wasn't going to be paying him for this lunch. He said it was for her special day and we couldn't disappoint her, so the food would be ready at 10.
I couldn't thank him enough and I added on a burger for me, just so he would get some money for cooking before they were open. Seriously, how many restaurants are this nice?
Okay, now I have to run so I can get to her lunch on time. But I just had to share this!
