I could get used to this free time thing. Yesterday I ruthlessly took 3 bags of stuff to Goodwill, did a ton of laundry and started to put together the frame for the garden. We have a trailer, and I really like it. I tend to wobble on the bike on my own, so the notion of a seat scared me. Maggie Coulbourn (Travis and Katie's daughter) has a seat on her dad's bike that is between him and the handlebars. Something about its construction didn't work well, though, and Travis ended up having to modify it to go onto his bicycle, so that's something to watch out for. Our trailer is a two-seater, and I find that it's only a little wider than my handlebars, and definitely *not* wider than my zone of comfort when it comes to passing by telephone poles and newspaper stands. I have had the trailer slip off a ramp once, but Iris wears her helmet and is buckled, and the trailer has a roll bar, so when it happened, she just ended up topsy turvy for a moment until I got the trailer righted again.

We have had trouble finding a good spot for a taillight on the trailer, but that could easily be idiocy on my part.

Our trailer is a Trek, and we really like it. I still hanker after a Chariot--when we have $500 to spare, that's what we'll get, and it will replace both her jogger (which is nearing death's door) and her bike trailer (which we could resell).
