California Trip Part 8 - Winchester House Part 2

The ballroom!

Me in the dining room with my Ray Face.

I guess this is a parlor or sitting area by the front door. None of this front area had been used after the 1906 earthquake.

The ballroom organ

The dining area was one of my favorite parts of the house. I want a dining room like this one! :)

I can't walk by a mirror without taking a picture of my ugly face in it. LOL!

So then after the "Mansion Tour" we went on the "Behind-The-Scenes Tour." On the web site this tour sounds really awesome. It is not that awesome. I recommend if you find yourself there, even though it's only like another $5, skip it. Just do the mansion tour! Your sore feet will thank you!

Oh, but they DO let you wear hard hats! ;)

We almost found one big enough for Greg! The extra large barely squeezed onto his gigantic noggin. I should have noticed that thing BEFORE I had kids with him! o.0

First they took us around the grounds a little. Here is a hedge someone has carved into a "13." Thirteen was Sarah's number, and many things in the house are designed around it.

There were a few cool things we saw on this second tour. This was through a window. See the orb?? Clearly a ghost! ;P

I love water damage, especially when it's at someone else's house!

We went in the basement, which sounds cooler than it was. There were a couple of evil old things down there, like this old radiator.

And the furnace, which was too lit and clean and non-evil-looking!

Well I hope y'all have enjoyed going through crazy old Sarah Winchester's house! Stay tuned for next time: the long-awaited Fort Ord! :D
