So we watched Twilight the other night. OMG what a terrible movie! Like, beyond awful! Possibly the worst vampire movie I've ever seen (and that's saying a lot, because I've seen a lot of bad vampire movies!*) Greg and I were laughing through the whole thing, mostly in bewilderment (like, what? why are they doing that?, and my personal favorite, when Greg said "They're... sparkly?" HAHAHAHAHAHA! HOO boy! Now I know there are people who really liked it, and I can only assume its because they read the book, and the book may have actually explained why the characters did anything they did, because the movie sure didn't bother! I realize the movie was made for teenage girls who read the book, but still, would it have killed them to insert a little background here and there, and maybe some motivation? There wasn't one thing a character did where I understood why they did it! And really, it wouldn't have killed that chick to smile once in a while. She was completely unlikable.
I hate it when vampires have either no real powers (like, if guns can kill them), or when vampires have no limitations (like, sunlight doesn't kill them). It has to be a trade off. Sure, it's great to be a vampire, BUT... I mean, this super-hot eternally-young guy with perfect hair keeps saying that being a vampire is the worst thing ever. Uh, I fail to see what's so bad about it! You don't even have to kill people you dumbass! And you can soak up the sun all you want, as long as no one sees you (cause, you know, you sparkle).
The only thing good about this movie was the hotness of the men. Even the old guy was sexy. And the Indian guy, her "friend" holy shit that guy was oozing sex! My advice? Watch it without the sound!
*This is coming from the woman who found redeeming qualities in Van Helsing. o.0 You'd think if I could appreciate THAT terrible movie, I could appreciate ANY terrible movie! Not so, apparently.
