Memorial Day Adventure Day 4, Part 5 - Grafton

Aug 01, 2007 14:13

Oh. My. God. Did I say God? Because there IS no God! There can't be after what I've just seen. I just found a banana in my work bag!

Wayyyyy down in the bottom.

Or, actually it wasn't so much a banana as it was an old black banana peel and black stinky goop. Uh, yeah, *trying not to hurl* Time to buy a new work bag!

So moving right along from that horrification, here is the next installment of pictures from Memorial Day. Enjoy them while I go and take about 10 showers.

Grafton Masonic Temple. I know its not abandoned, but its still cute!

Here is another beautiful building in Grafton. It is the Refectory of the Grafton "Institution for Feeble Minded." They have fixed up and are using all the other buildings on the campus but this one. Aren't refectories awesome?

And yes, I did try all the doors! But alas!

All the buildings had this little North Dakota shaped thing with the building's name on it. You probably thought it was a broken rectangle. Not so. Its a good thing North Dakota is so rectangular. I bet places in, say, Michigan rarely have these sorts of things. What a pain in the arse that would be! And then i think, if it were Wyoming, how would you know whether they were Wyoming shapes or just rectangles? Then I realize I think too much about stupid stuff.

Here's a peek in the window of one of the doors. That'd be a stack o' sheetrock in there. You know what that means. No more pretty abandondy refectory...

M and me by the pretty door.

north dakota, adventures, gross things, road trips, institutions
