well it certainly has been an interesting 2 days.... monday nite, my RA had a little house party with all the cookies, cake, and chicken wings you could want (and of course, i ate about 8 servings of everything.) i was worried that eating so much that my reflux go nuts for my jury the next day, but instead i woke up at 3am boiling hot with a bad tummyache, which of course led me to throwing up. and of course, it wasn't done after i got rid of the food- i expelled every bit of food, water, or other nourishment that i could have had. i think i literally lost about 5 lbs. in about 12 hours, heh.... so of course i had to cancel my jury. i felt like i wanted to die the whole day, but after 1pm i started feeling a bit better, although still incredibly weak and dehydrated. i was just so annoyed that i was going to have to re-schedule my jury for next semester, seeing as that i thought there was no way i was going to have one today. i woke up today and still felt pretty weak, but generally much better- it just felt like someone punched me in the stomach a whole lot. but i decided to try warming up for a potential jury, and my voice felt so resonant and juicy, and it hasn't felt like that in about 3 weeks. i think when i threw up every germ in my body, i got rid of the one that was fucking with my throat. haha. so i ended up taking a jury after all, and with all things considered, i'd say it went really well. not as well as i would have liked it to go, but hey- i didn't have a voice teacher for half a semester, and i was puking my face off yesterday. so at least i went through with it, and dont have to worry about it next year! yay!
as for yesterday, my older sister mary just took her first plane ride ever!!! (we quinn's don't fly too often... haha.) at her school [in upstate ny], they have basically a class offered in utah and colorado about western us history which involves visiting historical places (i.e. grand canyon, horseback riding down other canyons, rafting the colorado river...) so yeah, that's fairly awesome for her. what's also awesome was the BU symphony orchestra concert last nite, featuring winners of the soloists' competition, one of which being vito (who totally kicked ass!) it was also jillian's last performance at BU, which is pretty bittersweet. ahhh!! jillian's graduating in 3 weeks! freaky as hell..... so anyway, it's been a crazy 48 hours. time to celebrate with some booooze :-*
