They say that you turn out like your parents. The reason I'm so happy about this in regards to Dan is that his parents are the most generous people I've ever met.

They have no second thoughts about "borrowing" money to their sons. They don't worry about when they'll get paid back, how it will come, anything. They just give them what they can and believe it's their way of helping them as much as they can.

Apparently that extends to me as well.

Dan had mentioned that I had to come up with a lot of money in a short period of time. When Forest Ridge told us that we'd have to pay a $600 deposit, I was definately in the weeds. I couldn't even comprehend how I'd come up with that money. Lindsay still had a lot of money from her taxes, so I was the only one worrying. Dan's mom said that if I needed some help, they'd help me.

I couldn't believe it.

People who barely know me, only know that I'm dating their son, are willing to give me money just to help me get into a new apartment, because they know I need it.

My own parents wouldn't do that without asking what my payment plan is. I understand why they're wary, I don't begrudge that.

That's what I'm so glad that I'm dating Dan. Because he's learning how to be just as generous as his parents. That's the kind of parent I want to be.
