OH MY GOD! What a tennis match!
Mondays are always a rush for me - I have a Spanish lesson straight after work, come home briefly to make and inhale dinner, then it's off to dancing. Today I parked myself in front of the TV to catch up with some Wimbledon while I ate dinner and I tuned in to find Andy Murray beating all hell out of a tennis ball - I timed it well, I was just in time to see the last game of the third set. It was so exciting! The crowd were wild, Murray looked to be on form and I was so surprised to find that he had lost the first two sets because from the way he was playing, I would have guessed that he had bulldozed through those sets.
I couldn't believe that shot he hit to take the set, he hit it backward and almost pitched into the press, he just stopped himself in time, it was truly awesome tennis! When he won that set I was completely hooked and I was on my feet cheering.
I went and got my stuff ready for dancing and then came back to watch as much of the fourth set as I could before it was time to leave - it turns out this was the entire set because Andy didn't waste any time about it!
The fourth set ended just as it was time for me to leave for dancing - perfect. I was right ready to walk out the door, trousers clips on, helmet on.... Only I couldn't bear to leave such an exciting tennis match! So I took all my cycling paraphenalia of again and proceeded to sit on the edge of the sofa for the next hour, screaming at the tv and whooping with joy when Andy won a point!
It was truly exceptional tennis from both of them, it was one of the best matches I have seen in a long time. Both of them were hitting some really beautiful shots, they were inspired. Andy though, wow, he was lifted by that crowd! It was one hell of a match and I'm so glad I stayed home to watch it because I really enjoyed it!
COME ON, ANDY!
