What a good race! There was a quite a bit going on - some racing, a bit of overtaking. I enjoyed it.
Lewis continues to be mind-blowing. I have nothing to say apart from wow and then squee a lot. He's just incredible. Watching him and Fernando scrap was good fun, especially when Fernando got racy at the end.
Nico. Nico, Nico, Nico. *cries* First there was the sticky fuel nozzle and then the engine boom. I was cursing the sticky fuel nozzle when it happened, but only if that were the worst of his problems. For an engine to go at anytime is pretty shit, but 4 laps from the end. I was GUTTED. (He didn't look very happy either. *pets*) He was having such a great race; a really strong start, a good solid drive, 6th place, 3 points, thank you very much. And then his engine let go.... Poor, poor Nico.
Sebastian Vettel did very well, I was impressed. Heikki had a good race. I was gutted for Nick when his engine went, but that shot of him sitting in the deck chair and watching the race was classic. DC's non-finish was disappointing, that's 5 out of 7, not good! Jenson had a solid day but the Honda's are still pretty shite; he was lapped by Anthony in what is essentially last year's car! I was pleased for Anthony but felt bad for Jense.
And I think that's about me done for comments. It was an exciting race, quite a bit of action, some overtaking... all good stuff. Lewis is amazing. Nico is a very unlucky boy.
This was brought to my attention earlier:
Faces for Charity.
It's a charity drive being organised by Red Bull whereby you donate a minimum of £10 to a particular charity (
Wings for Life which researchs spinal cord injuries) and you get to have a photo of yourself put onto either David's car or Mark's car at Silverstone. I thought it sounded kinda fun, and the money is for charity, so I did it :)
Now I'm just spreading the love.
