Ugh! Frogged my first two inches of sock.
Reason: Failure to fully read instructions before casting on.
Confused over apparent lack of sizing but a claim they would fit 'medium sized adult feet' I embarked on the first sock not knowing if it would fit me, if indeed size 7 would now be classed as average adult size. I thought maybe so considering men's feet could get pretty big. But apparently not. I soon saw they would be too small, especially given the fact i have swollen pregnant ankles. My Mum calls them 'cankles' - a merging of your calves and ankles.
I was actually so enthusiastic to get started i didn't notice the information on the back of the pattern, right at the end about how to measure your foot and cast on the right number of stitches.
Rookie error! ...as my hubby would say.
On the plus side, the Opal yarn i'm using knit up really nicely and i loved watching the bands of pink white and blue. So i know i'm going to like them. I got quite addicted to it too. Sitting knitting round after round while listening to Cast On and Brit Knit Cast.
Off i go to start again.
