As if in a psychic fit of something, yesterday I was chatting with some folks, and we were talking about the Dean Koontz racism thing, and Bookslut's consequential contest, which as you will note is rather RPS-y, and also worthy of Kosak (but then that probably only has meaning to the ex-CMUCS types reading this, all, like, 3 of you).

cereta described the plot of Koontz's books like this: "Man, woman, and child (substitute mentally challenged adult or hyperintelligent animal) on the run from some vaguely supernatural but human in origin menace. They find love."

Which, after some thought, made me realize that if you replace "man, woman, and child" with "man, man, and man's flaky hippy mom..." you would have a halfway decent Sentinel story.

"Naomi, I don't think *sneeze* waving sage at it *sneeze* is going to--"

"RUN!!!!"

"Blair, is that a GUN?"

"Mom, get down."

"Honey, I did not raise you to--"

"MOM! GET DOWN!"
