Oregon's unemployment is at 12.2%, and still growing!

My job went bye bye. I'm a little upset that they offered me a new job, because I was kind of looking forward to accepting a severance package, staying drunk for three months, and watching the Maury Povich show every day. I really wanted to know who fathered all of those children.
I DO get to go visit Dougie before he joins the military, AND I should still be able to go on that rafting trip to Yakima. So that's pretty thrilling.
And, really, I still get to be employed with the same company. I DO, however, have to work under Steve, who is a dick weed extraordinare. He apparently recomended me for the job, enthusiastically, I might add. Seems kind of odd, because for the past year I've been under the impression that we were sworn enemies to the death. My paranoia wants me to believe that this is an elaborate plot to destroy me once and for all. We've been sworn enemies to the death, but he's never been my boss. Now if he's my boss, he can make me absolutely miserable, and then fire me in the end.
Hm.
I'm taking the job, anyway. Working at 9:00am for a man who is completely intolerant of tardiness. Time to grow up, Laura. Wish me luck. I might be screwing myself out of a sweet, sweet severance check.
