I've been loosely following the political carnival going from state to state too, and am also registered in NY but not present in it. Somewhat frustrating, but I'm a registered Greenie so couldn't vote in the primaries anyway.

I've been loving Obama because he never loses his cool. He hasn't really lashed out at any candidate yet, which is absolutely rare compared to the way politics has gone for as long as I can remember. I've read a lot of literature that basically dictates smear campaigns to be a necessary factor of victory. Meanwhile, Obama is sweeping the primaries with optimism while Clinton has been criticizing minute details of things he has said that the press has hardly paid attention to. I'm pretty impressed, although I really don't understand the kind of energy and focus that actually goes into campaigning. He's not only a damn fine public speaker, but at his young age he's raised more money than any other presidential candidate has been able to and he has a really good momentum. Plus, he's idealistic (which is very refreshing), he's totally not a pushover and has definitely made himself stand out in the senate by being kind of a hardass, and he admits to mistakes without long-winded unbelievable explanation.

Plus, Oprah is on his side. How cool is that? In some ways, that woman is practically the second coming. So, What Would Oprah Do?

I liked Clinton for a little while. Then Bill started backing her. I've heard critics say that she stuck it out with him to further her own political agenda. Whether or not that's true, I guess I could see how it's worked in her favor. Then, as a feminist, I can't sympathize with her for not leaving the prick, so I actually think that works to her detriment (for me, it does). Her breakdown was kind of interesting because of the eruptive response it received, but after that she seemed to lose her wind and she just looked crazier and crazier.

It's so cool that we're getting to see this! We've had forty-two white guys in a row! The streak may be broken!

PS How are you?
