With the end of the movie releases, it feels much as if the wave of the Potter phenomenon has finally peaked. Many people - of an astounding age range - credit the Harry Potter series as having ‘started’ them reading books - so what book or series of books got you hooked on reading? Harry Potter, an earlier childhood favourite, or something later?
I think Harry Potter was the first major series -- so to speak -- that got me reading. I remember reading children's books like The Magic Key, and I had Enid Blyton books read to me, but I think Potter was the first 'proper' book that I read for myself.
