So last night before we went to bed Wim said that Maarten had emailed us saying that he had gotten our package and that they were having the worst hurricane like storm ever. Apparently the roof of his house blew off! He said he was ok though. I guess the storm was not only in Rotterdam, but all across Britain, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, ( Read more... )

yeah, I saw this on the news this morning. How strange. I have heard that in very recent times, Europe has been getting hit with weather they have not typically had in the past. Tornadoes etc...

I should have watched the news. Our paper had only 2 sentences about it! I hope it's on the 5:00 news.
I do remember Wim saying that Europe never gets tornandoes, snowstorms and that Holland never gets accumulation.
That must be so scary for them.

Yeah, I saw that this morning on the news. I can't believe it's happening there. I'm kind of curious how long it's been since they had a hurrican storm?

Yes... storm passed through London and pretty much all of the UK (11 people killed). Only minor damage around my neck of the woods... although I haven't taken too close a look at our roof, which is usually missing a few tiles after a storm.

Yeah he called his Mom yesterday. She said the storm was bad, but they were fine. :)

I have been so busy I hadnt even seen anything about this on the news. Hope everyone you and Wim know over there is alright. Let Maarten know we say Hello!
