Note to all those using antidepressants:  Forgetting to take your meds five days in a row will not improve your symptoms of depression, or your relationships, or the state of cleanliness of your house, or your diet.

Yeah.

That was my week.

On the plus side, this weekend I watched fun travel DVDs from the library as well as a cool BBC documentary called "1940's House".  I also had three different kinds of ice cream, read two Agatha Christies, watched "Whose Line is it Anyway?", and most emphatically did NOT write my paper.  Go me!

Tomorrow Joel and I are going to lunch after church to have a Talk.  (Funny side note: before J and I got married, Joel's Dad tried to give him The Talk.  Yeah, that doesn't work so well when your son is 20, not 12.  Timing is everything.  Anyway...)  This Talk will consist primarily of discussing the pros and cons of staying in Eburg next year.  Hopefully the Talk will be accompanied by The Palace's chocolate milkshakes... they come with chocolate sprinkles on top.  Right now, I don't feel like deciding anything... I wish that all of a sudden Joel would get a TA position after all and we wouldn't have to worry about anything...

OH OH OH!  Here's a lovely thing:  Dr. S_ talked with Joel on Friday about an honors project J is going to do, and he (Dr. S.) brought up the TA thing... he actually apologized to Joel for not having anything and said he had tried his hardest to find something--anything--for Joel in the way of a position, but there were just no funds.  He also said that he's going to keep fighting throughout the summer to get J a position.  Now, I don't think Joel would take a position if it opened up, but the fact that someone cared enough to talk to him face-to-face, without B.S.ing, is really nice.  It's kind of funny that it was the Assistant Chair, rather than Joel's own teacher or another member of the string faculty, or someone even slightly more connected with him...  It's actually kind of sad, in a way... it made J want to play the french horn.  :)

I think something is burning on the stove...
