You're no fun Ike

So, no hurricane, huh?  Not even tropical storm winds or nuthin...I can't say I'm not disappointed.  I know it sounds selfish, but I have to admit I was looking forward to no work for a couple days,  getting nice and cozy with my hubby in the dark, with the wind & rain pounding outside, lighting some candles and playing Chinese Checkers in the bathroom:)  I mean, I understand that a hurricane of that magnitude would have brought some major destruction, and of course I would never want anyone to lose their homes or be in any real danger. I was just sort of hoping that it would graze us, not hit us directly...just enough for schools and buildings to close, and maybe enough flooding in the roads where we could get a couple days of work:)

Can you tell I don't enjoy my job too much?

And I was looking forward to the idea of Cesar and I getting to spend a few days together, just us, holed up in the apartment with candles and board games. It sounded fun and romantic:) I hate when too many days go by without us getting to hang out.  Saturday always seems too far away (the only day of the week where we get to spend the ENTIRE day together), since I work every morning, and he works most nights. I mean, sometimes he has a day off during the week and stuff, but then I don't get home until around 7pm...it just sucks. Oh well, one day we'll both have jobs where our schedules will work out better, but until then I count the days until Saturday. I guess it's good in a way - I mean, if we hung out every single night I wouldnt get anything done! We would end up snuggling in bed with some takeout and watching movies, instead of cleaning, organizing, doing laundry, you know, all the things that need to get done but that I really only do because I'm bored. Plus, I think it makes us cherish the time we do have together so much more. We definitely don't take each other for granted.

Well, hurricane season's not over, so we'll see what Mother Nature has in store for us yet;)
