From the depths, here i yam.

Good morning, livejournal folks. It's been...almost two years it seems. I moved on to Facebook and it's instant gratification and neglected my poor livejournal. But my good friend Alex Foster drew me back after my blackberry lost all my writings when it died, suggesting that i use this as a "dump" for them. And the idea is good. And i have a real snow day today, so i have time. If i can find an app for my Android phone, it would be sweeter.

So much has changed since i last wrote here. For one, i am no longer working for the agency whose contract i helped them secure. One day i came in and was informed due to financial issues i was being laid off. After the initial shock, horror and devastation sank in, my boss (who was pretty emotional about it as well) said he would help me find another job. He called someone who mentioned another agent in town was looking for someone like me, because their long-time employee had just left. A phone call was made, an interview scheduled, and I am now working for Agent Wes Cook.

I like Wes VERY much. He is the kind of agent that i am proud to tell people about, and does some things that no other agents do. For one, we have later evening and even weekend hours for our clients' convenience. He takes a more hands-on role in the claims process to help our clients be satisfied. And just the way he runs his office is smooth, streamlined, organized...everything that my world at Steve's wasn't.

The only drawback is, the economy is horrible and sales are terrible right now. And it's hard to explain this to Wes, being that i've only been there a few months. So keep your fingers crossed.

In other news, one thing that has pulled me away from the Livejournal world is a little thing fondly called "Warcrack." Yes, I can openly and freely admit that I play World of Warcraft now, since September 2009. I never expected to get into it, but a friend of mine invited me to play so that she and i could stay in touch since she moved about an hour away after she got married and once i started i found it was an incredibly fun game and not like what many folks had said about it. I LOVE the social aspect, love that you can be in a group with five strangers all focusing towards a goal and having to figure out how to work together. I love being in what i think is the best guild out there, as far as having a small group of folks (really about 15 actives) who really care about each other and enjoy playing a game together. My guild has folks from every walk of life; a 50-yr old english teacher in Texas and also a high school ROTC student who is more mature than I am from Texas, 2 unemployed auto workers from Michigan, a car salesman and former DJ from Massachusetts, 2 thirty-something brothers from Missouri, among others. I am the second YOUNGEST in our group at 29, ahead of our high school student Lumilan, who you would never believe is only 18. There are brothers and sisters, husbands and wifes, and fathers and sons who play in our guild, the Zen Brigade. But among the group they are some of the kindest, most caring folks you'd ever meet. Our times spent on Ventrilo (voice chat) laughing and talking with each other are precious and i count myself lucky to be a part of them.

That's all for now, friends. I'm going to try and update this a bit more frquently, but that's what's going on in my world.
