It has been a long time since I updated, but i'll keep it brief.
Wedding plans are still rolling along: March 25, 2006 at noon. Third Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. We now have 63 days, I believe. Today Holt and I signed a lease on an apartment! He will move in at the beginning of March, and I'll go ahead and move my stuff over and stay at home w/my parents until we get back from the honeymoon. I'm pretty happy with our choice of apartments. its in vestavia, about five minutes from work for me. walking distance to Western, Leonardo's Italian restaurant, and all of Rocky Ridge village. The apartment is fairly new, has a gas fireplace, walk in closet, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. it will be nice. and they allow cats! so we'll probably get a kitty after we've been married a few months, i told holt that we didn't need to be dealing with a cat right off the bat, we will probably have enough adjustments to deal with w/o having to worry with a pet.
i'm still working at Gray Dental Lab for holt's dad. its going well, i enjoy it most of the time. i'm also still teaching dance at North Jefferson Academy of Dance in Gardendale. my biggest problem with it is the drive, but i enjoy my fellow teachers and i enjoy the girls. this year i have three ballet classes: pre-pointe (grade 5 and 6), Pointe I (grades 6-8) and Advanced Tech (high school.) Its getting close to recital time and I need to go ahead and be choreographing the dances, because i'm sure i won't be very focused on anything but the wedding in March.
In December, my sister, my neice, and holt's best friend got married. one of us was in each of these weddings, so we were quite busy. Holt's sister recently got engaged to be married, as did my nephew. it must be catching.
we started our premarital counseling last weekend. that should prove helpful. we are doing it through holt's church, they have a mentoring program where they put you with a couple that have been married at least 25 years and you go through a workbook together. last time we took a survey, and it tackled basically five or six issues like finaces, inlaws, religion, sex, work and household expectations. we are now waiting for the results so we can know which issues we need to discuss more. I already know finances will be at the top of the list, because we haven't talked much about that at all.
i hope you are all doing well. give me a call if i haven't talked to you in awhile, and i hope to see you at the wedding!
