Sherlock/Dr Who - art for lotherington's The Detective

Apr 12, 2011 23:26

A large part of the fandom hive mind has decided BBC Sherlock (obviously) happens in the Whoniverse ;) I made this for lotherington's awesome The Detective.

Feedback is loved and appreciated :) Enjoy!

John Watson was seven years and three months old when he first met His Raggedy Detective. He wasn’t expecting the bright red telephone box to crash land in his back garden in the middle of the night... )

Oh, that is PERFECT! It looks like a New Who poster, with the TARDIS looming behind The Detective and his companion. :D

Thank you!

That was precisely the point ;) I was so happy to find a picture with the phone box windows painted over, so it looked more like the TARDIS.

It makes sense because it makes sooo much sense. Sherlock is such an otherworldly creature, and John is exactly the seemingly normal kind of person who would get willingly dragged along for such adventures.

I swear this image looks like a promo, and now I'm disappointed that I'll never see this series!

Thank you! The promo image alike-ness was precisely the point ;)

Circular meta - back in the mists of 1963, the Doctor was based on Sherlock Holmes. And even without this crossover, John is basically a companion, anyway.

He really is. The show might as well be a Dr Who AU, only The Detective has lost his memory of being a Time Lord.

But wait.. Does that make Moriarty a Dalek?

I think it makes Moriarty a Master-alike. Or Davros. Or a lead Cyberman D:
