Lost in Translation

It doesn’t work.
She’s been busy on the mainframe with this translation program all day, and the damned thing doesn’t work. Toshiko is thoroughly convinced that when she tells him what’s up, Jack’s going to send her back to that dreadful… prison, and she only just got here.
Only just got safe.
She hears his boots click against the floor of the Hub. He’s heading for her; she’s going to have to speak to him. He’s going to send her back.
“Toshiko,” Jack says, “what’re you workin’ on?”
She trips over her words to explain, she’s so bloody terrified.
“Toshiko!” Jack calls, hushing her, setting his big hands on her tiny shoulders. She looks up at him. “I’m not mad with you, honey. And you’re not leaving here, leaving me.”
Can he read her mind? She didn’t mention that part.
“Take a deep breath, and try to tell me again.”
