Some of the costume items I made/bought for The Hub

I have some pictures of my Captain Jack Swedish Air Force re-badged to RAF greatcoat, and Real Jack Eagle Squadron No 1 Dress Jacket, that I made for the Torchwood con, The Hub. I also managed to acquire a leather holster, and some 1945 ATS motorcyclist boots. The holster arrived in time, so I wore that with the rest of my Captain Jack costume. The ( Read more... )

That all looks so very cool. :) I admire all the work you put into it. Personally... I hate sewing clothes. lol

You did a great job on everything! I can't wait to see the full costume pictures :D

I'm curious -- how much did you pay for the RAF patch? I'm trying to find one right now (I'm hoping to find one in time for Chicago TARDIS). Also, what is that ribbon thing under the patch called? I have no clue how to hunt for that. :)

(and I still can't get over how incredibly awesome your crocheted Vortex Manipulator is!!!! That icon rocks!!)

Thank you very much!

The RAF wings is under this seller, on ebay:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Knights-Emporium

It was £5.50, and XE says that's going to be about $8.50.

This is a high quality reproduction; the fabric and padding mean it's really hard to sew on, but it does need to be done by hand.

Sorry, I forgot the name of the medal last night; it's a Distinguished Flying Cross, and someone on ebay has that, too, (for about $4) :

here

You'll have to turn it on its side and backwards, to get it to look right.

Both of these sellers are who I bought my items from, and they were very polite and helpful :)

I love my crochet VM so very much. (As does John ;) )

Ooo thank you so much! *runs off to Ebay*

WOW, that actually is a WAY better deal than what I was looking at on Ebay US, it was about $11 with shipping (the cheapest I had looked at was $20). So my birthday splurge was ordering the patch and the medal :D Normal people might splurge on a manicure for their birthday, I buy historic patches lol!

Thank you again, you rock!!! *hug*

Your work is gorgeous!

Now you just need to post one more pic of the coat with a circle around the part of it that JB sucked on during the infamous White Wine Incident. ;-)
