De la Terre à la Lune
by Laura
Connie James of MI5 met Captain Jack Harkness of Torchwood at a party in London on July 20th 1969. She was 25, just promoted to computers from secretary. He was… far older than the mid-thirties he resembled. And he apparently had better tech, and maybe more savvy than Ian Fleming had provided Bond with.
How could she possibly resist all of that?
***
Well, she couldn’t, was the short answer. Possibly against her better judgment, and certainly against many of The Rules, Connie had invited Jack back to her flat.
And into her bed, where they now lay; hearts slowing, sweat cooling, breaths calming.
“Wanna see something cool, Alicia?” Jack asked Connie’s alias, after a few minutes, grinning. He took his arms out of the covers, and started to open up the leather cuff on his left wrist. The device she’d only managed to glimpse, earlier.
“Yes,” she quickly replied, with a smile of her own. “Let’s see if that is what I’ve built it up to be.”
“And what would that be?”
“Something James doesn’t have.”
Jack laughed, big and loud. “Oh, Mr Bond definitely doesn’t have a piece of tech that can do this, Alicia! I guarantee you that.” He pressed a sequence of buttons, and the device displayed the Moon. “It’s a hologram,” he explained, as Connie watched, impressed. “Downloaded from Agency Archives in -“ He cut himself off.
“The future, Jack?” Connie’s instincts that had earned her promotion asked. She spotted the Sea of Tranquility, and traced a finger over it, before it spun away from her.
He was watching the rotating hologram as well. “Yeah. A long way in the future, Alicia Jones. Reckon you can keep that part secret?” Jack turned to look at her.
“I think I could possibly manage that.” Along with all the others she was keeping.
“Good answer,” Jack replied. He switched off the hologram, removed the strap, and then turned his full attention to her, arms back under the covers, stroking her stomach. “Now, you ready for another round? ‘Cause I certainly am,” he said in a low tone, eyes bright.
“Yes,” she emphatically replied, and pulled Jack down into a kiss.
He laughed, and they had some more sex. Then he showed her another function of his Vortex Manipulator.
Eat your heart out, James Bond, was all Connie could think.
