Nice piece. I liked the musical instrument, though I thought it might be a baby's toy :)

I'd have picked somewhere other than Venus though. Venus isn't inhabited by aliens who make musical instruments, and while Joan wouldn't know that, Jack (and sci-fi buffs) would.

Why not make it from a planet orbiting Fomalhault

I like the way that Jack made her investigate the musical instrument. The end is good too, and she's very much a woman of her time. Great :)
