Title - Pythagoras

Length - 440 words
Prompt - 5. Lex tutors Clark
Categories - friendship, pre-slash, 1-sided-ish UST
Spoilers - up to Craving
Summary - He’d been halfway convinced that Clark was far smarter than he ever let on, or had the opportunity to demonstrate
Pythagoras
by Laura
It’s algebra, today.
College level algebra, to be precise.
Lex hadn’t been that surprised when Clark had first shown him the book, asking, “Can you help me with this, Lex? I get a lot of it, but some things I have no idea about.”
He’d been halfway convinced that Clark was far smarter than he ever let on, or had the opportunity to demonstrate. There are dents in the wreck of Lex’s Porsche 911 Carrera that suggest Clark is hiding even more, but it had been great to be proven right on one score, at least.
From painful, personal experience, Lex knows the boy doesn’t need to be seen as even more of a unpopular geek than he already is. He’s taken Clark down from one cross; he has no desire to repeat the process. Maybe he’ll even try to ensure the homecoming hazing never happens again. Just need to speak to the right people and promise the right things. Money talks; it always has.
And on a slightly less traumatic note, as far as Clark’s concerned, the bigger the geek he is, the smaller chance there is of Lana actually noticing him.
The girl must be blind. (Lex knows the town is blind, on several scores). Surely himself and Ms Chloe Sullivan aren’t the only two people in the whole of Smallville who can see how hot Clark is?
They’re sat next to each other at Lex’s desk. It’s covered in pieces of paper full of letters, symbols and numbers; the results of factoring quadratic equations and solving logarithmic ones. Lex had been incredibly impressed at how quickly Clark had understood how the equations worked.
Pointing out a logarithmic equation, Lex says, “Let’s see who can finish that one the fastest, Clark.”
log2 x + log2 (x - 2) = 3
Clark has a wicked little gleam in his eye, and he then exclaims, “Go!”
They scribble frantically, with Lex only just beating Clark. He receives a one-armed hug from Clark in congratulation; Lex can’t help but wish that his prize had been a kiss.
Clark then says, “Lex? Do you have any books by the Greek guys?”
“About mathematics, Clark?”
“Yeah.”
“Of course. However, they’re all written in Greek.”
“Well, you’ll obviously just have to teach me Greek, Lex,” Clark says, smiling.
Lex smiles back. What had been lust at first sight was rapidly turning into love. He sighed. Who was he kidding? It had been love from the moment Clark had entered his domain, returning the truck, days after the boy had kissed him back to life, by a river. “I guess I will, Clark,” he replies.

Title - Special Delivery

Length - 170 words
Prompt - 9. Farmer's market
Category - 1-sided UST
Spoilers - Pilot and Metamorphosis
Summary - Lex learned that Clark did the majority of the fruit and vegetable deliveries
Special Delivery
by Laura
The first time was on a riverbank.
The second was the day the truck was returned.
The third was the night he got him down from the scarecrow.
The fourth time Lex met Clark was at the Smallville Farmers’ Market. (Jonathan Kent, Clark’s father, presented him with an apple. It didn’t have a particularly pleasant taste.)
***
After wandering around, checking out the rest of the stalls, Lex made his way back to the Kents’.
Examining their produce and eavesdropping at the same time, Lex learned that Clark did the majority of the fruit and vegetable deliveries.
“Mrs Kent,” he said, “I’d like to place a regular order for your wonderful produce.”
She muttered quietly to her husband, who did a really bad job of trying not to glare at Lex.
“Certainly, Lex,” she eventually said, although Jonathan was clearly unimpressed at this decision. “What would you like?”
”Your son, Martha. He’s the hottest person I’ve ever seen.”
Thankfully, he managed to avoid saying that, and reeled off a list instead.

Title - Apple
Rating - PG-13
Length - 183 words
Prompt - 13. Clark gets his first computer
Categories - pre-slash, first kiss
Spoilers - all of S1
Summary - Lex gave him an iMac
Apple
by Laura
For his sixteenth birthday, Lex buys Clark an iMac. He figures it’s one thing Mr Kent will actually let him keep. A computer is an extremely valuable tool, vital for schoolwork. Also, it means the Kents will finally have an extra one in the house, so they’ll no longer be pushing each other off the old, slow PC.
The fact that the thing just looks so incredibly cool is an added bonus - a ball, cut in half, with the monitor attached to the top.
***
They’re up in the barn loft. Clark can’t believe it, when he tears open the paper.
It’s an iMac G4.
Lex gave him an iMac.
Chloe would kill to have this very sexy machine to design the Torch with.
On impulse, he wraps an arm around Lex, to pull him close, and kiss him soundly on the lips.
Lex immediately kisses him back. A few minutes later they separate, and Clark says, “Wow.”
***
Precisely, thinks Lex, pulling Clark back to him, for some more kissing. He does something wicked with his tongue, making Clark gasp.
Internally, Lex smirks.

Title - Back to Life
Rating - PG-13
Length - 270 words
Prompt - 14. Clark tells Lex he did hit him on the bridge and that he doesn't understand why he's still alive (in shock)
Category - 1-sided UST, angst
Spoilers - up to Hourglass
Summary - he buys him a big, shiny, red, so-domestic-it-makes-him-shudder Ford truck, in gratitude for saving his life
Back to Life
by Laura
Lex Luthor is kissed back to life on a riverbank by the most beautiful person he’s ever seen.
“I could have sworn I hit you,” Lex says, and he can see the gears working in the boy’s head, considering what, if anything he should say.
He settles for, ”If you did, I’d be dead.”
Lex suspects that’s a lie.
***
He learns that the boy’s name is Clark Kent, and he buys him a big, shiny, red, so-domestic-it-makes-him-shudder Ford truck, in gratitude for saving his life.
Clark returns it, and Lex is at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. In his world, expensive, flashy gifts are most commonly followed by some really hot, no strings attached sex. The debt is then seen to be paid; the deal to be done. How’s he going to deal with this boy?
***
When an old blind woman is delivering prophecies of distant futures to Clark, Lex takes him to a lower level room of the castle, to ask about the recent past. There, he shows Clark the wreckage of his Porsche 911 Carrera; a dent in the hood and finger prints in the metal of the roof.
Once again, Lex tells this gorgeous boy, “I could have sworn I hit you.”
Finally, Clark takes a deep breath, admitting, “You did hit me, Lex. I still haven’t got a clue why I didn’t die. All I know is that I’m...different.”
“How different, Clark?”
“Different enough, Lex.”
Clark sounds sad. Lex is convinced he’s still not getting the full story, but for now, at least, he decides not to press any further.
