We took the kids to the Exploratorium yesterday, and when we left we discovered the car been broken into. Among the stolen items: my backpack containing my iPod, prescription sunglasses, hoodie, a few cheap but sentimentally irreplacable items, Sigg bottle, graphing calculator, textbooks, two weeks' worth of homework that will all have to be repeated, and R's microphone. Around $1000 worth of stuff, plus that which has no monetary value but was important, like my homework. On the bright side: they weren't clever enough to know that the kids' carseats are worth quite a lot themselves, so we were able to drive to home.
On a totally unrelated note, Sarah Palin took only three days off after the birth of her son because she was busy-busy as governor, right? But she can take an entire week, so far, to be presented as the VP nominee? I guess that shows where her priorities lie.
