A Random Adventure

Elsie bumped into Random Methuselah while scouting for web comic locations in DePaul University, at Pirate Cove. They chatted around a cosy fire.

Random mentioned that the circus was in town so he ferried Elsie to the other island to see the show. There was reputed to be sharks, underwater wrecks, and a Kracken in the area.

Slowly Random trawled through the canal at the port. The circus wouldn't be far away. Elsie understood his affection for the area.

The were lions and tigers and bears - but the most awesome of the caged animals was the wild man.

Random was no slacker when it came to the high-wire. He could also juggle, tame a lion, and ride a rolling ball around the circle. Earlier, Elsie had shot herself out of a canon.

Hidden behind a secret door at a nearby tavern, a gateway led to the cosmos itself. Zero G was fun!

Other doors led to other places. This was a temple of happy and silly dances, and it was impossible to frown while Elsie was there.

For a little while, it felt like Elsie and Random were at the centre of happiness in the universe. That was a good thing.
