Much Ado about Nothing (read some interesting trivia about the actual meaning of the word "nothing" in Shakespearean times...)
...But I'm a good girl so you'll just have to wonder!
I'm kind of describing the weather with that one (Blech). It's foggy, rainy and just generally mushy outside. The wonderful kind of weather that makes your head feel thick and if your lucky enough to have arthritis just generally achy all over. So I decided that the nasty weather warranted having oatmeal cookies for breakfast. They are full of fiber and so are good for you...never mind all the butter and sugar...
I went out with my mother-in-law (mom) and my brother-in-law (Jae) last night to a local nursery called Valley View Farms that is usually decorated for Christmas with lots of lights and merriment. We arrived and there were no lights and not much merriment, much to their chagrin. This is sort of an annual holiday pilgrimage for the two of them and this was the first year I was invited. Before we went to Valley View, we went to Michaels and Starbucks. It was quite a full evening for me actually. Even though the outside of the complex wasn't full of thousands of twinkling lights it was still quite nice. And the Jae-isms kept us all laughing. I wish I thought the Jae-isms would translate here, because he's incredibly funny, but you almost have to be there.
Well here's one. Jae is currently on vacation for the first time in 11 years and loving it. One of his employees called him this morning at 8:30 am. Here is a mostly accurate retelling of Jae's recount of the event...
"8:30 AM...AM...Ass Mine bite me...they called me at 8:30 AM."
See...you kind of just have to be there. Next time I'll bring a video camera....
So we sang along with the Bruce Hornsby (excellent in concert by the way) and the James Taylor (also a good concert) while we looked at the Christmas trees. Mom and I became enchanted with some jewelry the store has begun carrying. It had an almost Celtic feel in design. It was fun trying it on and not fun leaving it at the store!
On the way home we sang along to the soundtrack of "Beautiful Life" or "Beautiful thing" or something like that (Jae says it's a "gay film"). It was full of old Mama Cass and Mamas and Papas songs. That was the best part of the whole trip for me...
I think that's enough of not having much to say. Ana ran a fever off and on all day yesterday and I'm feeling rather gross myself right now. If you pray, throw one up for our little family...we can't seem to get over the ickies.
Oh and, I received a cool email from my husband this morning. Actually two, but one of them I really can't share the contents of (blushing). On a website discussion forum the question was asked, "Who is your hero?" I answered "My husband as he works a job that is not fulfilling to support us and also I'm liking St. Mary of Egypt these days." So the email I received from Jim said that I was his hero and that he secretly walks around with a bracelet which reads, "WWLD." So, what I'm wondering is...does he really mean that or does he just want cause to write me another email like the first one I mentioned....hmmm....
Have a good day all!
