Hi. I'm new to both the show and this community; however, I am enjoying both. Laura/Lee is the only BSG pairing I'm interested in, so I was thrilled to find others who celebrate the characters' chemistry. Although I have posted in the
bsgrpf community (Mary/Jamie), below is my first attempt at a BSG-related storyline. I'll start with a couple of drabbles:
Title: Visions
Rating/Spoilers: PG | very minor season 1
She never dreams anymore, not simple, foolish dreams which mean nothing except what she wants them to mean. Now, she prophesizes, sees the future as she sleeps, feels the weight of 48,000 people's hope even as she slumbers. It all rests on her even though she gets no rest at all. She knows it won't always be like this. One day soon she will no longer be strong enough to open her eyes, much less lead her people to the Promised Land. On the nights when she cannot do more than toss and turn, those nights when even the gods leave her be, she wonders what that place will be like. During those times, her vision is clouded by another form of dream, that of blue eyes so bright they remind her of childhood days spent on Caprica. It is then she knows she is still alive, still capable of love and hate, passion and uncertainty. In the mornings, when she rises after hours spent remembering gentle touches and shy smiles, she feels an ache in her chest that has nothing to do with the disease inside of her, and she embraces that pain.
Title: The Eyes Have It
Rating/Spoilers: PG | very minor season 1
She looked dark even though her skin was pale, her clothes were light, and the room was well illuminated. It was her eyes, Lee realized, as he studied her from his position in the corner. Her eyes were not the same pastel blue-green they had been earlier in the day when he last saw her. Now they were brown, a dark mahogany which was a side-effect of her power and her tiredness and her disillusionment. Lee had learned long ago her eyes changed colors according to her moods. He always knew what she was feeling, partially because he paid attention and partially because she let him. It was a gift and a curse, knowing her and yet not being allowed to know her.
