Before I get started, I'm just curious as to where some of you find your music? Is there a certain site or something?
ALSO, whoever knew who Hey Rosetta! was... how'd you find them? I never see them anywhere but on CBC stations and sites! I didn't know they were well known here yet. lol.
Anyway, down to business:
THE POLL RESULTS:
1. In the first question, I asked who, out of the given artists, you liked the most. The artists named the most were: Rilo Kiley, The Format, Fiona Apple, Sufjan Stevens, Ben Folds, and Damien Rice. This news is good, because I love them all, however, I was sad by the fact that nobody mentioned The Rocket Summer. (They're really good, you should check them out if you don't know them.)
2. Next, I asked if you had heard of any of the mentioned singers/groups, etc. The most well known out of the given was Regina Spektor. I love her, so that's cool that people (3 out of all the voters) knew who she was.
The people that weren't known by any of the voters were: Lio, Luke Doucet, Paula Toledo, Marit Larsen, Kyle Riabko, Good Shirt, Great Lake Swimmers, and Flashlight Brown. Some of those are little known because they're Canadian and just touring there, and on Canadian Radio, not yet released in the US... I just thought I'd try and see if people knew them. Thay're all pretty good though.
3. Favorite kind of music:
Rock, Classic Rock, and Indie were in the number one spot with 5 votes each.
Alternative was second place with 4 votes.
Jazz was 3rd place, with 3 votes.
Classical and blues were in 4th place with 2 votes.
Pop, Country, Rap, Folk, R&B, and Punk were all in 5th place with 1 vote each.
Electronic... well, they got nothing. Too bad.
4. THE Beatles vs. THE Rolling Stones.
The Beatles were rated 9.4 overall. There were 4 votes for 10, and 1 vote for 7.
The Rolling Stones were rated 6.83 overall. There was 1 vote for 4, 2 votes for 5, and one vote for each 8, 9, and 10.
