Hello again!

So our 3-night season at the summer theatre festival is over. We had a lot of people come and watch us! I mean, in 3 days we pretty much had the same number as we had in 15 performances during october and november. Of course, we didnt have a lot of money to promote the play and usually comedies do better in these festivals, but still in out last night we had 70 people in the audience and the place has about 100 seats (I think), so thats pretty good!

A young theatre critic wrote about our play and it was very nice, lol. He is a fan of our director, but for the first time he actually disliked our director/writer's text a bit. He complimented briefly a couple of the actors but it was a mixed review and I think the negative points stood out. Still, I cant help but agree, I see many flaws in the text and some other areas, but who wouldn't prefer it had been a good review? LOL

Still, people seemed to like it, I got good reviews from friends and we did get a good review from another critic, but that was last year. Still, those were probably our best performances and it was great to get together with the group again.

It was also challenging for me to change some things in the last minute. The day of our 2nd performace our director asked me to have my character's reaction to her brother's death be 200% more explosive lol. That is a very hard moment for me, because we do something where we present ourselveS (actors) and explain who our characters are, and 1 second later I get the news. And thankfully I dont have the experience to draw from there, but I do think *I* would be in shock, instead of screaming like a mad woman, so it was one of those moments of learning for me. Of letting go of fear too, because I guess I was just afraid to go completely crazy. But I did it!

Also, I guess i mentioned the character is one of those extremely religious people, but only on the outside, because she's a bit kinky... and the director felt I showed the kinky side too little, that I hid too much behind the fanatical and that people liked it when she went crazy. So there I went having to 30 minutes before the presentations do some things completely different in some very important scenes. But on the last day I think I had grasped the idea and I think it was a good change.

Other than that... a friend closed the car door on my thumb... lol that hurt like hell.
And...thats it!
