my loving paranoia

I don't have a history of hypochondria but I'm silly worried about something called the Hanta Virus

about a week ago Mike brought home a little mouse he found at work, which was ADORABLE, really small, big ears, dark on top, white on bottom, also known as the Deer Mouse.

we've had mice before, Fancy Mice, that lived for two years before they kicked the barrel, so I was excited to have another one.

So we've been housing this little mice in the tank beside our bed, and I did some research on it the other day to find out what kind of mouse it was, which was when I found out it was a Deer Mouse. Somewhere in my reading something called the Hanta Virus kept popping up saying that many deer mice carry this disease, but I pretty much overlooked it thinking "my mouse couldn't possibly!...and how dare you suggest it!"

however I've had some muscle aches lately and this morning I woke up feeling light headed and dizzy, it was like when you stand up too fast-but it wouldn't stop. So i drove over to my moms house to use her computer to look more in depth at this "Hanta Virus"

symptoms include (but are not limited to):

Fever
Chills
Muscle Aches
Dizziness
Light Headedness

which after 3-5 weeks turns into respiratory infection

and in 50% of the cases- DEATH!

Im pretty paranoid, while the Hanta Virus isn't common, it Does exist, and I've been sleeping next to this deer mouse for a week, its not even limited to touching the mouse (which I haven't done yet)

they carry it in their urine and feces, and once their feces dry up it can become airborne..

so yea, think im silly, but send a little love at me please
