when everyone was deciding on how to form their languages, I have a feeling that the germans were the clowns of the group. I'm not saying that they are in particular all that funny, but damn if the language is. everytime I hear them speak, I wonder if they just sound that way to get a laugh or two in. needless to say, I've been laughing at it too much to pay attention and learn a couple of phrases. besides, german is pretty much like english, except funnier. I can usually undertand basic conversations because it has a lot of familiaralities with english.
In an hour I catch a bullet train to shoot me off to amsterdam. I hear it's a beautiful city, and I will do my best to take in as much of it as possible. I figure restaurants can always use a good dishwasher or two, so I'm going to test out this hypothesis when I get there.
